Sunday School and Bible Study
NOTE: Children and Youth SS classes are on break for the summer and will resume in September; one adult class is offered during the summer.
Welcome to Oakton Church's Sunday School—a time-honored tradition that is new every Sunday! Sunday School classes are at the heart of our church life, and are the place where people learn about the Christian faith in a loving, supportive environment. There is a class for everyone; from the youngest child to the oldest adult. No person is too young, or too old, to learn about the love of God. Classes meet between the first and second worship services from 9:45 – 10:30am.
Children’s Classes include preschoolers through the fifth grade. Each class uses an age-appropriate Bible-based curriculum, and is taught by a team of loving, dedicated volunteer teachers. Our primary goal is to give children a sense of what it means to live in a Christian community, along with a basic knowledge of the foundational stories of our faith. Youth Ministry is a top priority at Oakton Church, providing youth with opportunities for fellowship, leadership, spiritual growth and mission. Our Youth Sunday School class is designed for those in middle and senior high school. Confirmation classes are offered periodically, for youth in sixth grade and above. Our Adult Sunday School Classes focus a wide selection of study topics and learning styles. We have four adult Bible Study classes including two adult Bible study classes, an elective Christian adult electives class, and a class designed especially for our younger adults ages 20-30. We also offer a weeknight, in-home, small group Bible class. Study topics range from the Bible and Christian beliefs to personal growth issues, family relationships, and current social concerns. A strong emphasis on fellowship and support makes these groups a vital part of our church community. For more information about any of our Sunday School classes, please contact the church office.
