OUTREACH

Kits for Conference

The Virignia Annual Conference is collecting kits for UMCOR and you can help. Kits provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis, and also help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies. Kits make a tangible difference in people's lives. Health kits, sewing kits, school kits, bedding kits, and birthing kits are collected by generous donors across the United States, then sent to one of two supply depots so that they can be sent to where they are needed most.

OUMC's goal is 100 kits to be delivered to Annual Conference on June 21. Bring your completed kits to the church by June 16. Find specific instructions about how to assemble and ship each type of kit here.

The United Methodist Committee on Relief is constantly on site to help the victims of natural disasters around the world. Follow the link below to see how you can contribute to and support their efforts:

Child Rescue Center
The Child Rescue Center exists within the structure of the Sierra Leone Conference of the United Methodist Church.  One hundred percent of their financial support comes from U.S. donations from individuals, corporations and churches along with collaborative efforts of Helping Children Worldwide. OUMC is one of seven United Methodist Churches in Virginia and Texas supporting this respected children's facility that is providing care to many of the war-tramatized children of Sierra Leone. The CRC provides food, clothing, education, health care and a safe, nurturing environment to 40 residential children and education and health care to 100 children living in family settings. Learn more about the Child Rescue Center.

Sponsor a Child
You can make a difference in the life of a child in Sierra Leone through your sponsorship.  One hundred percent of the sponsor-a-child donations go directly to the CRC to help care for the children. You can choose to donate online by credit card or by sending in a check.
