|
| United Methodist Men (UMM) United Methodist Men use the power of the greatest gifts of God to mankind-- a mind to KNOW Him, a heart to LOVE Him, and a will to OBEY Him-- to bring all men into a Christian fellowship where they will be active in ministry with one another and to the United Methodist Church at large.
Through invitation, acceptance, and support, UMM will: Introduce other United Methodist Men to a new life in Christ, thus enabling the power of the Holy Spirit to transform them into true men of God. Foster spiritual growth and development among men to become better husbands, better fathers, better mentors, and better citizens of the Kingdom of God far beyond what they could ever imagine or expect. Provide the means for men to become conditioned spiritually to meet the challenges of life.
Membership is open to any man who indicates a desire to belong to, and participate in, the ministry of the church through United Methodist Men. Oakton's United Methodist Men meet at 8:00am, at the church, on the third Saturday of each month for breakfast, programs, and fellowship. Come try us out.

United Methodist Women (UMW) The members of the Oakton United Methodist Women (UMW) strive to fulfill the purpose of the United Methodist Women by "expanding concepts of mission" and "creating a supportive fellowship" that welcomes all women of the church into their midst.
We sponsor a number of church-wide events, such as the spring yard sale and the fall bazaar, to raise money for mission education, spiritual growth, and social action, with a continuing focus on the needs of women, children, and youth. We also raise funds by coordinating the collection of Campbell's Labels and used/cancelled postage stamps.
The UMW at Oakton Church consists of the Susanna Circle which meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at 12:30pm, usually in a member's home, and the Women's Fellowship which meets at the church on the 1st Saturday of the month at 8:30 am for breakfast and programs. Our Board meetings follow the Fellowship meeting and are open to all women of the church.
Joining this group of committed women is a unique opportunity--no matter who you are or where in your life you are at this moment--to move in harmony with other women who have been responding to the Purpose for over one hundred years. All women, including teenagers, are welcome. Whether you're 28 or 82, there's a place for you with United Methodist Women.

United Methodist Young Adults (OUM-YA) The Oakton United Methodist Young Adult group welcomes any person attending church services, in their 20s - 50s, to join us for fun, food and fellowship. We meet once a month for a pot-luck dinner at one of our members' homes, and on-site child care is generally available for anyone who needs it. From time to time, we also organize fun family outings like pool parties, barbecues, and trips to the baseball stadium and/or speedway. By becoming a member of OUM-YAs, you will have an opportunity to gather and share with others who are called to grow in Christ through breaking bread, prayer, worship, recreational activities, and service to the church and our community. We usually meet once a month on a Saturday evening, however, the date does fluctuate so please check the church calendar or the weekly bulletin for specific dates. To join our group, please contact us at OUMCYoungAdults-owner@yahoogroups.com/group/OUMCYoungAdults

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (OUMYF) At Oakton Church, Youth are an integral part of our congregation. OUMYF provides our Youth an avenue for support and friendship that is unique in its ability to provide a healthy, open and loving Christian environment. The goal of OUMYF is to provide a safe community for facilitating the exploration of one's self as a child of God and His plan for our life as a Christian. Oakton Church's youth ministry gives junior and senior high school students, ages 12-18, an opportunity to build relationships with other Christian teens who face the same questions and issues, and help them grow in their relationship with Christ. Meetings are normally held, during the school year, Sunday afternoons at 2:30pm in the "Youth Lounge" at the church.

Coffee, pastries, and fellowship are also shared, on a more spontaneous basis, following the 8:30am service.
