Guest Preacher and Lunch and Learn - January 25th at 10 AM
On January 25th, we welcome Rev. Chris Allen, Vice President of The Methodist Foundation, as our guest preacher. Rev. Allen will preach and also lead a special learning session focused on faithful stewardship.
His sermon “The Eternal ROI” is based on Matthew 6:19–20.
Following worship, join us for a Lunch & Learn: Faith & Finance—Tax-Efficient Giving for the Future of Oakton UMC. We will share a potluck-style lunch while learning practical ways to give wisely, including donating appreciated stock, using donor-advised funds, and making qualified charitable distributions (RMDs) from an IRA. This session will explore thoughtful, long-term stewardship strategies that protect your assets while sustaining the vital ministries and mission of Oakton UMC.
